SSC CGL Tier-1 Cut Off 2016 : See the Cut off of Last 5 years

SSC CGL 2016 Tier-1 is over. Here is the Most expected Cut off (Safe Marks )for CGL Tier-1 Exam.


Staff Selection Commission (SSC), CGL 2016 Tier-1 Exams are over and as per the information, 14 lakh candidates have appeared in the exam, while the total no. of candidates who registered for the exam is over 30 Lakhs. ie More than Half of the candidates did not write the CGL Tier-1 Paper. 

As the Exams are now over, everyone is waiting for the announcement of SSC CGL Tier-1 Results, but even aspirants are more eager to know the Expected SSC CGL Tier-1 Cut off, so that they know, whether they have scored that safe Marks required to Qualify for Tier-2 Exam. 

It is worth mentioning here that, SSC had released the Response sheet for CGL Tier-1 Exam, that contains the Answers marked by the candidates , along with Correct Answer. That means, candidates, know their Tier-1 even Marks before the declaration of result, so, all they wanted to know is Cut off marks, so as to make sure, whether they are going to appear in the Tier-2 Exam Or not.   

In this post, we are going to discuss with you, the Expected Cut off for SSC CGL 2016 Tier-1 and comparing it with the Cut Off for SSC CGL Exams of the Last 5 years. Knowing the cut off  score of the previous CGL Exams, will help you in getting an idea, how many minimum marks you need to score to qualify for Tier-2 Exam.


What is CGL Tier-1 Cut Off ?

Cut off Means = Safe Marks to Qualify the 2nd Round (Tier-2)

CGL Tier-1 Cut off is the minimum marks, you need to score in the CGL Tier-1 Exam, to get qualified for Tier-II Exam.

The Tier-1 Cut Off will be released officially by SSC, only after the declaration of the results.

1) Cut off is low, when the Question Paper is Difficult and Cut off is high, when the Difficulty Level is low.

2) More the vacancies, Lower the Cut Off.

3) There has been substantial increase in the Cut offs over the Last few years and with every increasing year, Cut offs tend to go higher, which means Competition grows for SSC CGL Exam

Cut Off For SSC CGL-2016 Exam

 
In this section, we will discuss the Expected Cut Off for CGL Tier-1 2016 Exam. It is expected that SSC will announce the CGL 2016 results before 15th Oct, 2016, as the CGL answer keys are already announced and SSC is inviting representations to challenge official answer keys.

In 2016, the Cut offs have increased as against previous years. This is due to 

1) Increase in No. of applicants appearing for CGL Exam (Approx 14 Lakh)

2) Shifting to Online mode of Exam and Easy Exam Pattern of 2016 exam.

Note: This cut off is based on prediction and as such it can be taken as granted as Final cut. The actual cut off may be at higher or lower side. So, you need to wait till announcement of Results. But if you are getting anything over 120 Marks, then you should start preparing for SSC CGL Tier-2 2016 Exam, as scoring above 120 is definitely a safe marks. 


But, you score anything, less than 100 marks (General), then there is no chance to Qualify the Tier-1 Exam and instead, you should start preparing for CGL 2017, as it is also round the corner. It is expected that SSC CGL 2017 Notification can be announced anytime after Jan, 2017 and Exam is expected in May/June, 2017

SSC CGL Cut off of Last 5 years


1) SSC CGL 2011 Cut Off (Tier-1) : In CGL 2011, 6.1 Lakh students have appeared in CGL Tier-1 Exam. Here is the Official cut off for SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam 2011

  • General: 86.75
  • OBC: 70.25
  • SC: 63.5
  • ST: 63.25


2) SSC CGL 2012 (Tier-1) Cut Off:  In SSC CGL 2012, 9.67 candidates have appeared in the CGL Tier-1 Exam, an increase of over 3.5 lakh candidates from the previous year.

Here is the cut off for CGL 2012 Tier-1 Exam.

  • General: 82
  • OBC: 70
  • SC: 64
  • ST: 62



Note: In 2012, we can clearly see that the Cut Off have deceased by 4 Marks for General candidates. The reason is that over 19000 vacancies created in SSC CGL 2012


3) SSC CGL 2013 (Tier-1) Cut Off: SSC had conducted the CGL Exam 2013 in April/May, 2013 at various centers in India. A Total of  12 Lakh ( 12,12,429) candidates have appeared in the Exam. Here is the Cut off for SSC CGL 2013 (Tier-1) Exam

  • General: 96
  • OBC: 81.50
  • SC: 75.25
  • ST: 70.25
 
SSC CGL 2013 (Tier-1) Re-Exam: Due to some irregularities on the part of SSC, a 2013 CGL Tier-1 Re-exam, was held at several centers in India, in which approximately 5 lakh candidates have appeared.

  • General: 102
  • OBC: 85
  • SC: 77
  • ST: 69
 
4) SSC CGL 2014 Tier-1 Exam: In 2014, SSC had conducted the Tier-1 Exam in the month of Oct/Nov 2014. A total of 13 lakh (13,01, 391) candidates have appeared in the exam.
 

Here is the cut off for SSC CGL 2014 Tier1 Exam.

  • General: 96.50
  • OBC: 82
  • SC: 77
  • ST: 69.50

Update (As on 29th Sept, 2015) : CGL 2015 Result Out !

5) SSC CGL 2015 Tier-1 Cut Off: SSC had announced the CGL Tier-1 Results 2015 on 29th Sept, 2015. An approximate no. of 17 lakh candidates have appeared in this exam and only 1.66 Lakh have been declared Qualified to appear for Tier-2 Exams.
 The Cut off for CGL 2015 Exam is higher, as compared to previous years. The reason is record no. of 17 lakh applicants have appeared for the exam in 2015 

Here is the cut off for SSC CGL 2015 Tier-1 Exam.

  • SC: 80.25
  • ST: 74.25

  2. any score below 120 is on edge…..150+ may consider themselves in top 5000 people….its going to get tougher now….but those on edge…dont lose heart…u still have tier 2 to go…try to get as much as from tier 2

  7. Various parameters determine cutoff marks of tier1. One of it is level of q. Which was moderate to easy. So cutoff must have been 105 to 115. But then commision promotes candidates numbring 15 times vacancy available which is fixed.Around 8 lack candidates applied but around 3.5 lac gave prelims and students appearing is important parameter. Earlier they were to promote that amount of candidates amongst 8 lac and now only from 3.5 lac. So UR cutoff will decrease it may be between 95 to 105.

  9. i am obc and i got 115 marks is it enough to qualify for tier 2 i am not sure if it would be enough as i think the paper is easy compared to previous years more over i didnt even prepare well for the exam

  10. I was not able to open on 26th sep within 5 p.m, so i can't see my omr sheet. they can put time limit for submission of representations. but wat is there in OMR sheet. wat a fucking system. Indian govt is the worst system of the world. fuck you Indian govt.

  11. my graduation result published on 2nd august 2016.If i get result in tier 1, will i be allowed further or should i prepare for the next tier as there is a mention in the brochure of 1st aug 2016 as the eligibility criteria date. Plz help me out..

  12. Bhailog I attepmted 100 questions but scored only 23.5(Twenty Three Point Five). Is there any chance for me to clear tier 1 ? Can i start my preparation for tier 2 or i should wait for CGLE2017 ? please help me. I'm confused. Cut off kinta ayega koi batao.
